Hello! I'm Tarjani Samani, an independent architect, design researcher, writer, and creative consultant.
Drawing from over 5 years of hands-on experience, I've explored the intersections of design, travel, culture, and heritage, collaborating with various publications and organizations. Holding an architecture degree from Mumbai and a post-graduate degree in Design Research from Germany, my mission is to unravel and invigorate dialogues surrounding architecture and design, portraying them as transformative forces that enrich our lives.

My journey
is driven by a profound curiosity about the architect's role in our rapidly evolving global x local context. I am dedicated to exploring the intricacies of Indian design through uninhibited creative exploration.
During my early career, I balanced the roles of a project architect and a contributor to editorial projects under the guidance of senior architects. This dual proficiency in design and communication reflects my commitment to presenting design and culture narratives to a wider audience. Consciously pursuing immersive travel journeys across India and Germany also gave me a glimpse of diverse design methodologies and contextual insights.
My editorial contributions
have been featured in publications such as Design Pataki, Elle Décor, Architecture Live, Unbuilt, FCA, Bauhaus Study Rooms, Unbind, The Urban Project, Offcenter, and Kaarwan. I aspire to always prompt discussions on design as a lived cultural reality rather than an isolated object.
In Academia
I was honoured with the prestigious German STIBET DAAD Scholarship for my master’s thesis at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences and the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation in collaboration with Humboldt University Berlin. Additionally, I have recently facilitated elective teaching modules on various topics including Design Communications, Drawings as a Verb, Ethics of Design, and Mediums of Intrigue.

I am deeply drawn to
enriching experiences offered by galleries, exhibitions, and museums, as well as the vibrant atmosphere of open mics and creative retreats. Exploring the captivating stories woven into Indian dance and architecture is one of my passion projects.
If I were to describe my personality, I'd say I am – curious and curiouser!

Opening up as many doors as possible - My Journey
I'm open to design and writing projects, and eager to discuss potential collaborations.
